......till the 10k!
I most likely will not run it under an hour, due to some set-backs.
Maybe that can be my goal for next year.
Running in the cold has been a change, especially on the lungs.
But I have found the best way to adjust, is to take short walking breaks.
It helps my lungs to recover and adjust, and it does not hurt my time.
Although, I have added a few minutes back to my time, by not running for almost 2 weeks.
And......the weight is back.
What an ongoing battle! :/
I don't know what to say other than I have not given up!
Last night, I was reading on a "running site", why running is good for you,
and it said that most people lose about a pound a week when they start running.
I have been running for over a year.
And now am able to run 6 miles straight.
While at the doctor last week, I discussed some health issues I was having with my doctor, and my weight gain (up almost 20 lbs since January, and basically I weighed this while I was at the end of pregnancies),
he said that I should not be putting on weight, with the amount of running that I do.
He is running several different tests, which I am thankful that I have a doctor that takes action and does not blow me off, like I hear about other doctors doing.
While I am obviously hoping all my tests are good, it will not offer any explanations.
And yet, I admit that about half of what I eat, is not helpful to weight loss, but also,
half the time I eat really healthy, but still gain.
Anyways..........blah blah blah.............
I am still looking forward to the 10k...........
And running it with two of my favorite runners!
Who said they were NOT runners in the beginning,
but are proving to be AWESOME at running!!!!!!
And great encouragement for me to keep going. :]

Happy.......
I have a list of small things, that are filling me with JOY!
1~ Kati is running the 10k!
2~ I bought an official race outfit, including a hat,
to hold down my frizzy hair.
3~ At Goodwill last night, I bought some running pants,
that will be perfect for running outside in the Winter
months.
(we'll see if that happens! ;])
4~ I am down 12 lbs!
5~ I love running!
6~ I am totally crazy, but my friends still love me!
Of course I have many more things that bring me JOY,
but just wanting to share a few of the less important ones, because they still bring me Joy! :]

42 days........
Til the 10k..........there's still time to sign up!!!!
I am actually getting very excited about it.
Mostly because now that I have ran the 6.2 miles straight, I know that I can DO it!
My best time has been 62 minutes, hoping to get under 60.
It is so hard to believe that when I started training last year, running 10 minutes was such a struggle, and now I am running an hour!
Marathon some day?
Umm....not sure!
But the accomplishments are encouraging!

Greenville 5k
We did it girls!!!!
(And Isaac! Who got 2nd for his age group!)
I placed 70th, out of 441.
My time was 25:01, which I am very happy with!
*Just wanting to brag on a few of my fellow runner's time:
Kait (who hates running and claims she is finished)~ 23:39
Charity (without her encouragement on the last mile, I would have walked)~ 24:58
Sheri (very proud of her!)~ 28:06
Isaac (2nd place)~ 22:51
*there were others that I knew that ran, but only sharing times of those that read this blog.
Here is the link with the results .
Here are pictures .Which I am thankful that I am not in them! They are funny to look at though, lol.
It was HOT & HUMID, and you can see it on everyone's miserable face...other than a few that still looked cute, which is ridiculous! LOL!

Too Busy.............To Diet?
My good intentions are getting me no where.
Lately, it seems that I start my week off great,
and things get crazy-busy.
And I just find it easier to eat the bad stuff,
because................ it is easy!
:]
At one point, I feel discouraged.........
at another, I could care less,
and right now ..........I am somewhere in the middle.
Not really discouraged, kind of caring,
and still not ready to give up.
To be very honest, this has been the hardest time......
I have ever had, sticking to it!
And I wonder if it has something to do with being at a place in my life,
where I am not as self-conscious as I use to be.
I have become confident in God's love for me.
I know Cleyo loves me, for who I am.
Beauty is fleeting.
And some times...pasta brings me joy!
So.....just thought I would update,
even when I don't have good news.

Here I go......
Today I am officially signing up for a 5k, and a 10k.
Charity shared with me last week that she has also signed up for both of these.
If you would like to join us, just sign up, and let us know.
We would love for you to join us!
So, the REAL training begins.
I have started a new private blog.
I have been inspired by a few people's success stories, of what they have accomplished in 12 weeks.
So I decided to give it a "try".
I will be posting private info, including weekly pictures.
So, it will not be open to just anyone.
Only to women that would like to be a part of my 12 week journey (by letting me know),
and that I can trust to keep my personal info and pictures, private.
So....here I go.............
I am thinking that there has to be something motivating about seeing pictures of yourself overweight?

+4
Not +4 pounds, silly!
Ha Ha!
I was trying to fool you!
Did I?
That's all that counts, lol!
Anyways, -0 pounds.
Kind of discouraged by it, but that is just part of trying to lose.
I really ate well most of this week, but not very good last weekend.
If I want to lose, I really have to watch what I eat.
But I am feeling and seeing more muscle tone in my legs, since I have been running outside.
And the +4, is because I ran 4 miles outside this morning. Well, maybe more of a steady jog.
But I ran most of it, maybe walked about 10% of it.
Honestly, before I started, I thought the last 2 were mostly going to be walked, but I was able to run most it.
Thankful, that God has graciously allowed me to be able to run. :]

Breast Cancer Awareness 5K
Here's the official information on the Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk. It's Saturday, July 24th, in Greenville and begins at 8:30 AM. Registration cost is $20. If you register before July 15th, you get a T-shirt. The link includes the mail-in registration form.
The T-shirt is great, but the real reason you should run this race is to win a car! (haha) There will actually be a car given away by Dave Knapp - talk about incentive to exercise! I figure, since it doesn't go to the overall winner of the 5K, but is given away in a drawing, I might actually have a shot.
There will also be a kids fun walk after the race, and each child who participates will receive a prize. I think it would be fun to get a group of people together for this one, especially since it's right here in Greenville and our families can even come to cheer us on. Are you up for the challenge???

You've been deleted! LOL!
I was considering deleting this whole blog, but I really like having some of my favorite links in one place.
Also, because I might use it as a open journal, on my road to disciplining my body towards a healthy lifestyle.
As of right now, I am planning on running a 5k, at the end of July.
I have been running 2 miles outside, a couple times a week, and hoping to increase that to 4 miles.
Also, trying to make healthy food choices, and for me that is mostly veggies & proteins.
As of last Friday, I dropped 5 pounds.
A few weeks ago, I set a goal to lose 15 before the end of July.
I am thinking that I might go back to my Friday check-in posts?
Anyways............here's to sowing healthy choices, and reaping the benefits.
